Resin driveway specialists
A resin-bound driveway is natural stone aggregate mixed with clear resin and hand-trowelled into a smooth, seamless surface. Because water drains straight through it, it's one of the most practical driveway surfaces for homes across South Yorkshire.
No planning permission needed in most cases. Because resin-bound is permeable, you can usually lay it across your front garden without applying for planning permission, even over 5 m². Listed buildings, conservation areas and new dropped kerbs can need separate permission, and we'll check this on the site visit.
Permeable Surfaces manages surface water with professionally installed permeable surfacing. It is designed to allow rainwater to drain through the surface and into the suitable layers beneath, permeable surfaces can help reduce standing water and support better drainage around your property
Covering more than 5 m² of a front garden with a surface that doesn't drain normally needs planning permission. A properly laid resin-bound driveway is permeable — we'll talk you through it on the site visit.
The stone is locked into the resin, so nothing scatters onto the pavement. A sweep and an occasional jet wash keep it looking right.
Choose a stone colour and blend to suit your house, with contrasting borders if you want them. At Precision Nova Builds we use Resin Mill colours and blends, which offer a wide range of natural stone colours and decorative blends, allowing you to create a finish that complements your home.
See our resin driveway colours →Resin is only as good as what's under it. The existing ground must be properly assessed and prepared if the ground is not structurally sound then this will cause problems in the long run. We at Precision Nova Builds will do a full assessment to ensure you have a driveway that will last.
UV-resistant resin stops lighter stone blends yellowing in the sun. We use Resin Mill products that have all been tried and tested in the UK for many years to ensure the resin is UV-stable.
They sound the same but aren't. Resin-bound mixes the stone into the resin for a smooth, permeable finish. Resin-bonded spreads resin on the surface and scatters stone over the top — it's rougher underfoot and water doesn't drain through it.

We're based in Sheffield and lay resin driveways, tarmac, block paving and patios across South Yorkshire and beyond.

As a guide, a standard resin-bound driveway costs around £140 per m² plus VAT (£168 including VAT) and tarmac around £110 per m² plus VAT (£132 including VAT). So a typical two-car driveway of about 50 m² is roughly £8,400 in resin or £6,600 in tarmac, including VAT. Your exact price depends on size, access and groundwork, so we measure up and give you a free written quote.
Tarmac is usually the more budget-friendly option and is very hard-wearing. Resin-bound costs more but gives a decorative, permeable finish with a choice of colours. We can price both on the site visit so you can compare.
Paving over more than 5 m² of a front garden with a surface that doesn't drain normally needs planning permission. Resin-bound is permeable, so in most cases it doesn't — but if you're unsure, check with your local council and we'll advise on the visit.
Often, yes — if the existing surface is solid, level and drains. Cracked, sinking or crumbling bases need sorting first. We check this on the site visit.
Installation usually takes around 4 days for a typical 2-car driveway, though larger driveways or jobs needing extra groundwork can take longer. You'll need to stay off it while the resin cures — we'll tell you exactly when you can walk and drive on it.
A properly installed resin driveway typically lasts between 15 and 25 years. How long yours lasts mostly comes down to a solid base, the quality of the install and basic care like regular sweeping. Our work is also backed by a 15-year workmanship guarantee.
We fit resin driveways across South Yorkshire and beyond, including Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Chesterfield and the surrounding towns and villages.
Tell us a bit about the job and where you are. We'll arrange a time to come out, measure up and give you a proper quote.
